Rejecting a Prescription to a Previous Workflow Step
You can reject a prescription to a previously completed Workflow step if corrections need to be made. The Reject functionality is available from the following Workflow steps:

Clinical Review
*Reject is only available when processing a prescription in Rx Detail. It is not available when detailing or correcting a prescription.
Prescriptions can be rejected from both Propel Rx and Patient Centre.
To reject a prescription to a previous Workflow step from Propel Rx:

Do one of the following:

Process a prescription from its applicable Workflow queue into Rx Detail.

On the Workbench, highlight the prescription(s).
If you need to resend prescriptions to a packager, filter the Workbench by the Group Name or Batch ID. You can highlight all the filtered prescriptions by clicking on the Select All checkbox in the grid header.

Select Reject. The Workflow Reject window opens.

Enter or select the following information:

Reject To - select the Workflow step that you want to reject the prescription to. The options available depend on what Workflow steps the prescription has already completed and the order of those steps in Workflow Preferences.
Hold prescriptions will not have a Packaging option.

Rejected By - this field is read only and defaults to the current user logged in.

Rejection Comments - enter your reason for rejecting the prescription.

Select OK.

The rejected prescription(s) will appear in the applicable Workflow queue with the comments entered.

A row is added to the Workflow Details window indicating the user who performed the action, timestamp, and Workflow step that the prescription was rejected to.

Prescriptions in the Technical Validation or Clinical Review queue can also be rejected from Patient Centre.
To reject a prescription:

From the Patient Centre Prescription e-Verify module, select a prescription(s) to process from the Technical Validation or Clinical Review Workbench.

Select Process.

Select Reject. The Workflow Reject window opens.

Enter or select the following information:

Reject To - select the Workflow step that you want to reject the prescription to. The options available depend on what Workflow steps the prescription has already completed and the order of those steps in Workflow Preferences.
Hold prescriptions will not have a Packaging option.

Rejected By - this field is read only and defaults to the current user logged in.

Rejection Comments - enter your reason for rejecting the prescription.

Select OK. You are brought back to the Technical Validation/Clinical Review Workbench in Patient Centre. The rejected prescription will appear in the applicable Workflow queue in Propel Rx with the comments entered.
Processing a Rejected Prescription from Propel Rx
Upon processing a rejected prescription in Propel Rx, the Workflow Reject window opens again as read only. After reviewing the rejection comments, select OK to continue processing the prescription.
Processing a Rejected Prescription from Data Entry
If the prescription was rejected to Data Entry, all prescription details that were previously entered are retained. Amend or rebill the prescription to make the necessary changes.
Processing a Rejected Prescription from Packaging
If the prescription was rejected to Packaging, remove the existing packaging details by selecting the Remove button
. You can then add the correct packaging details.
Processing a Rejected Prescription from Technical Validation/Clinical Review
If the prescription was rejected to Technical Validation or Clinical Review and subsequently processed in the Aggregate window, a Rejected tag will also display on the prescription row. Additional details about the rejection can be viewed by selecting the prescription and opening the Workflow Details window (Rx > Workflow Detail).
Workflow Details Logging
In the Workflow Details window, another row will be added to record when the Workflow step was completed again. The previous row corresponding to that Workflow step is not updated.
On the e-File copy, under the Workflow Details section, the corresponding row will be updated with the new date timestamp and user initials. If the prescription was rejected to Clinical Review, the pharmacist signature is updated as well.
